LIFE FOR BIODIVERSITY

Biological diversity is rapidly declining — and becoming a material risk to every human. The variety of the Earth’s living species is declining at an alarming rate due to human activity, from habitat destruction to the emission of greenhouse gases resulting in climate change. Biodiversity loss poses an existential threat to ecosystems, the global economy and, in turn, to every human. Biodiversity and climate change are inextricably linked. Biodiversity loss reduces nature's ability to absorb greenhouse gases — forests, wetlands and oceans annually absorb 5.6 gigatons of carbon. Climate change, in turn, takes a bigger toll on nature. 50% of global GDP depends on nature, 75% of global food crops relying on animal pollination! Decrease of loss of habitats highly influences sectors of agriculture, food, forestry, aquaculture, fishery, heat utilities, construction, electricity and many others that highly depend on natural capital.

The overall objective and result to be achieved is to increase knowledge and better understanding of Youth in respected subjects’ areas addressed to Climate Change & Biodiversity Sustainability issues including impacts of climate change on
biodiversity loss caused by human activities and thus empower the youth as a next generation to become leaders to promote
significantly the sustainable development when dealing with the critical climate change challenges.

To inspire and empower young people to act, they first need the right knowledge and skills in key areas related to climate change and biodiversity sustainability.
To achieve this, a Capacity Building Pack (CBP) is developed for youth workers, incorporating expertise in innovative methods, approaches, best practices, and interactive tools.
CBP is supported by scientists, experts, and researchers who provide the latest knowledge, data, and insights across six key themes in these fields.
CLIMATE CHANGE & BIODIVERSITY SUSTAINABILITY
THEMES
The Importance of Ecosystems Conservation in Biodiversity
Impact of human activities on biodiversity conservation
Evidence of climate change
Impacts of changes in temperature and precipitation
Increasing frequency and intensity of extreme weather events
Impacts of climate change on the timing of seasonal periods/phases

YOUTH WORKERS
Activities strengthen the capacity of youth workers and educators in climate change and biodiversity sustainability, equipping them with the skills to teach these topics effectively. The Capacity Building Pack provides tailored methods and approaches to support their work. During Biodiversity Sustainability trainings, they gain hands-on experience with these methods, developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The Blended Workshop on Climate Change Mitigation will enhance their creative and digital skills, enabling them to develop awareness-raising materials for the campaign.

•The content-based Capacity Building Pack (CBP) consists of a set of innovative methods and approaches, incorporating the latest knowledge, facts, and data to support trainers in their training sessions.

Capacity Building pack is supported by three pillars of methods, approaches and best practices in:
- Climate change & Biodiversity Sustainability
-Critical thinking and problem-solving in Sustainability
-Political activism in Sustainability
